Wow! With all the negative comments about a new model coming out, from an old refitter, no wonder innovation from new companies is practically dead!
I've seen the so-called great work of the established coach-builders. Just because they're established doesn't mean quality.
It appears there are some people who don't even want them to demonstrate what they can do in the flesh!
How sad and disheartening for the new up-and-comers. Perhaps some of which will be the Roadtreks, Pleasure-Ways, Great Wests, Airstreams of the future.

If you're handy, recycle a coffee can, or any other tin can which meets your size requirement. Take some material of your choice. old wallpaper, etc. and glue it on the outside. Wa - la! You have a unique, customized, trash handling device, (trash can) to your personal liking.
(I think the last time I did something like that was in elementary school art class)! :D

Restoring Fiberglass Oxidation - Any Advice/Tips

(ADMIN: I posted this here because there is most likely more of a target audience of B owners with fiberglass 200's/210's who have taken their decals off, than on the other possible forums).
OK, I have the decals off my 200 Versatile with very light ghosting of the lettering and logos. The only area where the contrast is greater is over the windshield where a light 'Roadtrek' can be seen when the direct sunlight is not on it.
I've gotten myself very confused reading all the claims for buffing, polishing, and waxing products on the I-net.
I'm considering one fiberglass gelcoat restoration product. The manufacturer claims it brings back the original appearance and color. IF it even comes close then that would be less contrast to the original lighter white color/finish under where the 'Roadtrek' decal was.
My son-in-law, seems to think any good buffing compound will "probably work", to minimize the contrast.
I'd like to read any first-hand real-world experience from others. If not, then I'll consult with a local body/paint shop with a good rep for working with fiberglass gelcoat finishes - (probably a boat shop).
Much appreciated.

Yes, acetone can be used on bare fiberglass gel coat, but our units are painted and acetone will ruin paint very quickly. DON'T USE ACETONE!
A hair dryer won't hurt the paint, it doesn't get hot enough, but don't be tempted to use your shop heat gun. It will strip the paint right off.
To remove any graphic that is three dimensional like the chromed model numbers or the padded Roadtrek stickers, or the little convex mirrors on your rear views try a length of dental floss. Just saw it back and forth under the stuck on item and it will work its way through. I prefer the mint flavored.
Oh, and DON'T USE ACETONE!
I went back and edited out my edited in references to Acetone after you wrote this - simply because - DON'T USE ACETONE! :):o

Just removed all the manufacturer and dealer decals off a '98. Keep in mind it has been stored in a garage and under a metal awning all these years and not out baking in the Arizona sun.
My son-in-law has been in the used car business for years. He showed me how to do it without taking the paint off or stripping the fiberglass finish.
1) Use a hair-blower on the high setting. Ours maxed at 1600 watts.
2) Allow the decal to get very hot by angling the hair dryer at the decal, (not straight on). When the decal is good and hot, grab a corner of the decal, and very slowly peel it away so as not to take any paint, or gel-coat, revealing the fiberglass undercoat. Repeat the process on the next small section (if a large decal).
3) For the glue residue, Goo Gone works much better than WD40 we found. We learned we had to let it soak into the area for a few minutes to allow the glue residue to break down. Using the edge of a popsicle stick, or a hard plastic spatula, we lightly, slowly, - and gently -"scraped" off the residue without leaving scratch marks on the surface.
(We used the Goo Gone, although I did read this thread during my research of ideas).
BE CAREFUL TO NOT ALLOW THE GOO GONE TO RUN ON ANY OF THE DECORATIVE DECALS OR THEY'LL BE DESTROYED BY THE SOLUTION!
I read lots of advice from other owners. This was the best - and as it turned out - the easiest method of which I learned.
Even though the van was not subjected to the hot Arizona sun by being parked under protection, there was some discoloration due to fading, with the letters being outlined in a ghost effect especially over the windshield which was pointed out by 'Hit The Road Jack'. When we look at the van under just the right sunlight, we can still see some of the ghosted lettering.
I'm next going is to buff the areas with a buffing or polishing compound, then a use a fiberglass re-conditioner. Hopefully, those ghosts will be busted!
Hope this helps the next individual who does this.

Class B Sales are Doing Just Fine - Says Home & Park Chief

In light of the earlier post about Winnebago sales, I ran across this:

"Overall retail RV sales are down or flat in many parts of country. But guess how Roadtrek retail sales are doing? They’re doing just great. For the first quarter, Roadtrek retail deliveries matched last year’s record pace. This is better than it looks when you consider that Sprinter inventory is still being built up with our RS and SS models on the recently introduced completely redesigned Sprinter vans. In fact, retail deliveries of our Chevy based models were up 10%!
But how are class B's in general doing? According to statistics from the U.S. RV Industry Association, class B shipments hit their highest levels this millennium (on a seasonally adjusted basis) in late 2006 and early 2007 as the popularity of Sprinter-based models peaked. This was followed by a decline in the last half of 2007 as manufacturers, including Roadtrek ran out of the "old" style Sprinter vans well before the new style became available in volume in North America. While no longer declining, shipment levels on a seasonally adjusted basis have not increased because most manufacturers have not started shipping new style Sprinter based models in volume. Roadtrek is the only manufacturer doing so and enjoying sales growth and growing market share as a result."

Who do I contact? I have an idea for a slight modification of the rules.

I remember in my folk's '68 Brave, the pilot light would go out, so dad would check it at every pit-stop and everytime we would take a rest break. Also in their Honey & Pace Arrow Class A's. Don't know if it was necessary or it just became a habit.
Of course, he'd check the tires and fluid levels too.

What do the truckers use to keep their big refrigerator trailers cold/frozen? Thought I've seen propane tanks hangin' underneath them.
Wonder when they turn them on and off when running cross-country and within cities and towns?

Last year when we had the wrong worn out non-deep cycle battery I was starting to think two batteries. Still, it got us through a night with good battery management. Now that we have a larger capacity AGM deep cycle battery I have a lot more confidence and performance has been very good. We seldom camp more than one night without electrical hookups since we seldom stay in one place more than one night. So the battery generally gets recharged with driving the next day.
I'll have to find out what type of battery he has in it. Do you know how to calculate power capacity from them? (I'll google it), but if you or anyone happens to know - I'd appreciate it.
I used to have a formula to calculate the life expectancy of camera batteries for my ENG equipment - but have lost or misplaced it.
